INFLUENCE OF INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE (IGR) ON PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION IN ADEYEMI FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, ONDO, ONDO STATE

Abstract


The study examined the influence of internally generated revenue on programme implementation at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo in Ondo state. The study was guided by three research questions and three hypotheses of no significant difference. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of 95 members of staff drawn from various directorates and units of Adeyemi Federal University e of Education, Ondo in Ondo state. The entire population was adopted as the sample due to its small size. The main instrument for data collection was a four-point Likert rating scale questionnaire, with 20 items validated by three experts. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The findings further revealed that the respondents rated high the influence of IGR on the development of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo. The study concluded that IGR sources and mobilization in Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, Ondo State is weak, deficient and inadequate.  Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that the management of the college should put in place measures to enforce payment of levies on commercialized traders in the campus to improve upon the mobilization of IGR. It was also recommended that the college should collaborate with other higher institutions both within and abroad to ensure standardization and create more room for Internal Generated Revenue.
