THE NIGERIAN WORKER AND VALUE RE-ORIENTATION IN A DEPRESSED ECONOMY

Abstract

This paper is on Nigerian worker and value re-orientation in a depressed economy. There is no gain saying the fact that the Nigerian economy is depressed. The paper explains the concept of a depressed economy, characteristics of a depressed economy, imperative for capacity building, values and value reorientation. Agents of value re-orientation: the family, the school and the religious groups. The paper draws a conclusion and recommends among others, that the federal government should intensity efforts at creating job opportunities for the teaming youth population and that society should de-emphasized ostentatious living and reward integrity by putting the right people in the right places.
