QUALITY ASSURANCE IN BUSINESS EDUCATION THROUGH EFFECTIVE FUNDING OF TERTIARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN ANAMBRA STATE

Abstract

The study was on quality assurance in business education through effective funding. The study was conducted in tertiary institutions in Anambra State. The population of the study was made up of directors of quality assurance, directors of academic planning and business education lecturers numbered 90. Three research questions guided the study. A structured questionnaire validated by experts was used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using mean with standard deviation. The findings of the study include; that business education programme in tertiary institutions should be jointly funded by government, private sector, community, mission, P.T.A and money realized from internally generated revenue, school fees, education tax and endowment funds. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that the curriculum of business education and standards of education in Nigeria should be reviewed; there is need for proper funding of our educational institutions; and effective supervisory system should be injected into the system.
