UTILIZATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHING BUSINESS EDUCATION IN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN OYO STATE

Abstract


Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is indispensable in the teaching and learning activities in our educational institutions. The study assessed the utilization of information and communication technology in teaching business education in colleges of education in Oyo State. A
descriptive survey design was adopted. Two research questions guided the study and two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The population for the study consisted of 30 business education lecturers used. Mean was used to answer research questions while t-test statistics employed to test the hypotheses. The findings revealed that business education lecturers are expected to be skilled in using ICT tools to enhance teaching and learning level in business education. The finding also revealed that business educators are not perfect in using ICT for instructions. It was recommended that the Federal Government should encourage business education lecturers to undergo
computer training in educational institutions. It was also recommended that business education computer laboratories should be furnished with internet facilities and power supply to facilitate adequate use of ICT facilities.
