INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT): A STRATEGIC TOOL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract


More and better Information and Communication Technology is a powerful tool for economic and social development of a society. This paper sought to explore how Information and Communication Technology can enhance the development of a nation, though appropriate use. It highlighted the common machines and equipment that are available for use in the modern office. Description of a
modern office was made and it was emphasised that any nation that wants to achieve sustainable development must keep abreast with Information and Communication Technology gadgets in all sectors, economic, education, agriculture, media et cetera. Advantages and disadvantages of Information and Communication Technology were mentioned. Recommendations and conclusion were made based on personal opinion, internet sources and relevant textbooks.
